  16. Introduction:
  17.         EEToolkit is a package designed for electrical engineers and
  18.     electronics hobbyists. It is meant to be a "launch pad" for
  19.     engineering applications and reference material.
  20.  
  21.     The current version includes:

  23.         o Ohm 4-band version 2.0
  24.         o Ohm 5-band version 1.0
  25.         o Cap version 2.0
  26.         o Doodle version 1.0

  28.     We have updated our Ohm and Cap calculator applications and 
  29.     wrapped them into the new EEToolkit.

  31. Usage:
  32.     EEToolkit is extremely simple to use. Simply choose your preferred
  33.     function from the pop-up list in the upper-right hand corner of the
  34.     screen.    Your preferences and last-entered data and drawings are
  35.     saved.

  37.     Ohm 4-band version 2.0 and Ohm 5-band version 1.0

  40.     Ohm is a simple program used to calculate resistor values from 4-band
  41.     and 5-band color codes and vice versa. The only difference between the
  42.     4-band (5% tolerance resistors) and 5-band codes (1% tolerance resistors)
  43.     is that there is an extra digit before the multiplier in the 5-band.

  45.     To convert color to value, simply select the first, second, third (and
  46.     fourth if applicable) using the pop-up lists. The value will automatically
  47.     be calculated.

  49.     To convert value to color, write the resistance value in the "Value" field
  50.     and select the units from the adjacent pop-up list. The colors will
  51.     automatically be calculated.

  53.     Resistance values can range from 10 ohm to 99 meg ohm for 4-band, and
  54.     100 ohm to 999 meg ohm for 5-band. No floating point (decimal point)
  55.     support at this time. All entered values are rounded down.

  57.     By tapping the menu silk-screen button within either Ohm function will
  58.     give you a selection of a quick reference guide, Ohm help, registration
  59.     information, and a list of standard (common, off-the-shelf) 1% and 5%
  60.     resistor values.

  76.     Cap is a program used to convert capacitor IEC markings to a true capacitor
  77.     value and vice versa. IEC is a 3-digit code and the most commonly used to
  78.     mark ceramic-type capacitors.

  80.     To convert a capacitor value to an IEC code marking, write the capacitance
  81.     value in the "Value" field and select the units. The marking value will
  82.     automatically be calculated.

  84.     To convert the markings to value, simply write the 3-digit IEC code in the
  85.     "Markings" field and tap on the field. The capacitor value and corresponding
  86.     units will automatically be calculated.

  88.     IEC Code markings can range from 100 (10pF) to 999 (99000uF). No floating
  89.     point (decimal point) support at this time.

  105.     Doodle is a simple scratchpad embedded into the EEToolkit. It can be used
  106.     for note taking, quick schematic sketches, etc. The single sheet's contents
  107.     are saved.

  109.     To draw, tap the "Draw" pushbutton.
  110.     To erase, tap the "Erase" pushbutton.
  111.     To clear the screen, tap the "Clear" button.

  113. Registration Information:
  114.     EEToolkit is a shareware application. The unregistered version is not 
  115.            crippled in any way, and will allow a 14-day trial period. After 14 days, 
  116.     you must register this software. Registered users will receive all future 
  117.         updates at no cost.
